I travelled for nearly three weeks through India’s biggest tourist draw card known as the “Land of the Kings” or more commonly, as Rajasthan. It’s a well and truly travelled circuit that incorporates the City of Lakes Udaipur, the Blue City of Jodhpur, the desert outpost of Jaisalmer, the Pink City of Jaipur and the pilgrimage town of Pushkar. It had incredible forts and palaces, a fascinating and colourful culture and friendly people. It also had pesky touts, scammers and rickshaw drivers, too much dust and too many tourist oriented shops selling the same clothes and souvenirs as the next. It’s probably given me my favourite sights and memories of India but it’s also left me wanting/needing to escape the tourist trail for a while. Here’s a collection of my favourite photos from this incredible state.
